LeRoc is French for rock & roll; In the U.K it has been transformed and it is the name given to a stylish modern jive, which can be danced to virtually any music from Elvis to Kylie and the Scissor sisters as long as it has a strong regular beat.

LeRoc evolved after G.I.'s brought the jitterbug to France during the Second World War. Beatle mania and Discotheques contributed to the demise of partner dancing and the twist etc. encouraged people to dance alone.  Partner dancing was lost to a whole generation

LeRoc modern jive is also known by other brand names like (Ceroc, Le Jive, Le Step or Mo Jive) but LeRoc teachers are professionally qualified and recognised by The United Kingdom Alliance of Professional Dance Teachers (U.K.A.)

At our LeRoc evenings you'll find great music, excellent teachers and a highly energised and fun atmosphere.

If you have done less than 5 weeks of lessons, you can get help from our 'Jive Coaches' in a separate room during the Intermediate lesson.  Then at 9.45 the lights go down and itâ??s free style dancing until 11pm.

There is no need to bring a partner, because throughout the class you will change partners every few minutes. This is a great way to make lots of new friends and it actually helps you with your dancing as you learn your lead/follow skills much quicker.

In your first lesson you will learn 3-4 moves and they will all link together meaning after 45 minutes you will be able to dance to a whole song without having to learn any boring exercises.

The dress code is casual, but please make sure you are comfortable, you may get quite hot so some people bring a spare top and a small towel with them.  Also make sure your footwear is suitable, rubber soles like trainers will make it difficult to spin.  Stiletto heels can be dangerous to yourself and others.
